Dr. Peppard was born in Oak Park, Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science and medical degrees in the Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University. While in medical school he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his pediatrics residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital at Northwestern University. He then practiced general pediatrics for several years in Lafayette, Indiana before doing a fellowship in neonatology at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He remained as faculty at Indiana University Medical Center until 1996, when he joined Pediatrix Medical Group. His major interest in neonatology is high-frequency ventilation of the newborn. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. Dr. Peppard is married and has 3 daughters. His hobbies include cooking and travel.
