Dr. Bickers earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, and he is board certified in Pediatrics and sub-specialty certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Iowa, and then completed a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of California at Davis. He has been a neonatologist for over thirty years, joining the faculty of The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1982. He served until 2003 as a neonatologist on the staff of the Children’s Hospital in Columbus (now Nationwide Children’s Hospital).

He joined the Pediatrix Medical Group of Ohio (Dayton) in 2003 for one year, and subsequently accepted assignments for neonatology staffing needs within the Pediatrix organization at three other locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Virginia. He re-joined the Dayton practice in 2006.

Dr. Bickers and his wife, Marcia, have three grown daughters and two grandchildren.
